Big Outdoor Art Challenge
To take part in Children’s Art week (6th – 12th July) we have joined the #Big Outdoor Art Challenge which is being promoted by the Council for Learning Outside the Classroom.
What: Your class / bubble are invited to join us in a little explore and forage in our own school grounds, to collect and create our Balfour Tree logo out of found natural materials. It’s a scavenger hunt of sorts. Your year group will have a particular part of the tree to ‘find’ and assemble.
When: You will get a timetabled slot on Tues 7th or Weds 8th to go and collect your particular materials. Those in split groups will have 1 group collecting on Tuesday and 1 group making on Friday.
You will also get your own time on Friday 10th to help create the tree. It will be marked out by a temporary rope to follow.
Where: The tree itself will ‘grow’ horizontally on the grass area by the bird bath, up between KS1 and 2. See below for suggestions as to where you will be able to find your materials. You can use as many different textures and tones as you can find, the more the better.
How: You will need cardboard boxes, shopping bags or buckets to collect your materials. Please try to find your own but there will be an assortment of carrying vessels in the KS2 garden area if you have nothing. (The handles will have been wiped).
Why: Because we all need a little outdoor time to discover and explore. And, it is Children’s Art week!
