Year 6

What we are learning this week:

Summer 1, Week 1

Maths: This week, children have been learning all about angles. We learnt how to use a protractor to measure angles accurately and then applied our knowledge of angles to solving problems.

At home: What do the internal angles of a triangle add up to? What about angles on a straight line, and around a point?

English: In English the children have been focusing on non-chronological reports. We have researched and started to write a non-chronological report about rationing during the war, and next week will write their own reports based on a different area of World War 2.

Geography: Our Geography topic this half term is Amazing Americas. We learnt that there are 23 countries in North America, and located these on a map.

Homework: Your children will have brought home a book for their homework today. We will set the children homework every Friday and this will be due back in school on Wednesday. Each week, it will contain their spellings to learn, English and Maths consolidation for the week. The teachers will mark it together with the children each week so that they are able to address any misconceptions. If they are unable to return their homework by Wednesday, they will be given an opportunity to do it during a lunchtime club.

Thank you for your support with this.
