Discover the Great Outdoors: Embrace Our Nature School
We are thrilled to offer an enriching addition to our curriculum – Nature School. This innovative program is designed to offer your child a unique learning experience that goes beyond the traditional classroom setting. Our aim is to foster a deeper connection with the natural world, promote environmental awareness, and support the holistic development of all our students.
A Vision for the Future
Our Nature School is not just an outdoor activity; it's a comprehensive educational approach that integrates with our existing curriculum to enhance learning for children aged 4 to 11. It provides an alternative, hands-on learning environment that is especially beneficial for vulnerable children, offering them the support and engagement they need to thrive.

What we are learning in Nature School
We have been busy in Nature School with lots of activities. We have been making the most of the beautiful autumn leaves and have made some stunning Leaf Mandalas. We have used willow to create stars, created some land art, learnt how to make fires and much more!
Year 6 have been busy planning and carrying out their own group projects - they have made everything from bird boxes, hedgehog homes to bug hotels and Nature School signs. Everyone has learnt some new skills, whatever the weather !
Nature School has been busy as usual and we have been enjoying the sun this week ! We started off our latest block of sessions by looking at signs of summer. The children did some great sketches and learnt some new flower names.
The children have enjoyed a focus week on trees - tree rubbing, painting and naming trees.
We have been continuing to work on levelling the floor in the shelter and planting.
Previous Weeks' Adventures:
This week at Nature School, the sun decided to come out - which was lovely!
Our classes have been very busy this week. We have been sieving compost, trying out our brand-new shelter, planting trees, watering the new trees and doing a litter pick.
All classes have also been learning about birds’ eggs – why an egg is egg shaped, what their different colours are, as well as recognising common British birds' eggs. They have applied their art knowledge to colour mix and paint their chosen bird’s egg.
Nature School braved the rain again last week! Children have been making bird feeders using lard and a variety of seeds. They are dotted all around the school site – how many can you spot?
We have also been doing some planting and tree maintenance with some classes!
